way past new year
It has been that long since my last entry. How time flies! We finally put away our christmas tree and decor about two weeks ago. Changing of festive season – Chinese New year songs can be heard just about anywhere…
I have officially started my first out of two kindy years. I am still trying to adjust to it all – the schedules, the waking up, the uniform, name it. Dad set my alarm clock at 6am daily. After awhile, it’s just impossible not to wake up to its loud call! I am only four and I cannot imagine … the years ahead – going to school daily… is the routine going to be the same? I wondered.
Some things happened over the past weeks months.
1. I have more friends than ever but I still wish my first buddy Wilron is with me!
2. I was stung by a bee which left me ill and confined to home for a week or so. After so many days being away from school, it was such a struggle to get back to my feet. It’s like starting all over again. I bid Mom and Dad my morning goodbyes so reluctantly, with such heavy heart. I asked Mom, “why do I have to go to school?” almost everyday…
3. Ivan hit me and left a mark on my right cheek, and I still call him “friend”…
4. Autie Joan, Uncle Bernard and Lesley jie-jie came back for a holiday. The last time I saw them (not Lesley) was about 2 years ago. My excitement peaked when Lesley jie-jie bought me three ‘transformers from ToysRrus’. I’m still excited. Deep in my heart, I ached for the huge Bumblebee. I kept silent knowing the dear price it holds!!
5. I helped Dad paint my room blue. It’s yet to be completed.
6. I do have lots of homework sometimes, especially Chinese. So far, so good
